The Ayni Way
“Ayni” means “reciprocity” or “mutual benefit” in the Quechua language. It means that when you give something, you are entitled to get something back, and when you get something you have an obligation to reciprocate and give something back. This is what we are about.
Our intention is to be a conscious- minded business that creates ethically sound products, treats everybody with respect, and does no harm to the Earth. Everyone who is part of the creation of our products is fairly paid and treated with respect. We are a network of people who believe the only the way for us to thrive as a local AND worldwide community is through a collaboration of mutual benefit. All the raw materials are sustainably sourced and as naturally produced as possible. We respect the environment, and we know where our suppliers live.
Products are handmade in home workshops with love and careful attention to detail. At every stage of production the above applies. We do nothing in the name of profit that is shameful. If there’s any money left over after everybody gets paid a fair wage, we spend it on something that’s good for the Earth. Everyone working together in this business is on that wavelength. That’s why we asked them to work with us.
